Become a reef hero: Lionfish Hunting Dive in Curaçao

Join the fight to protect Curaçao’s reefs with our exciting and eco-conscious Lionfish Hunting Dive at Blue Bay Dive & Watersports. The lionfish is an invasive species with no natural predators in the Caribbean, posing a serious threat to local marine life by rapidly overtaking native fish populations.

During this guided dive, you’ll learn:

  • How to safely and responsibly hunt lionfish
  • How to handle and prepare the fish after catching
  • Why lionfish hunting is critical for the health of Curaçao’s reefs

And the best part? After the dive, bring your catch to the restaurant, where your freshly caught lionfish can be turned into a delicious meal!

- Minimum age: 10 years. Not 10 yet? Check out the Bubblemaker program! Starting from the age of 8. 

- Certain medical conditions and medications may preclude you from diving, for advice contact us and check the PADI Medical Questionnaire.

- Flying and Diving – You will not be able to dive if you are flying within 12 hours or if doing two dives, 18 hours.
